Α new member in our Worldplaces Network, College Year in Athens (CYA)!

We are welcoming College Year in Athens (CYA) to our Network “Worldplaces-Workplaces Working with Migrant Women“.

Mrs. Niki-Vanessa Evbuomwan, Student Affairs & DEI Assistant at College Year in Athens (CYA) and also an Ambassador of the Worldplaces, has provided answers to our questions about the topics of Diversity and Inclusion in the workplace.

  • Why is the promotion of inclusion in the workplace important for you and your organization?

Because that’s all life is about – living with people from different cultures and backgrounds, being tolerant and open-minded. Given the data on Greece’s diversity, I’ve realised that the lack of certain people from certain spaces is a political choice, so my presence in this institution reflects its choice to hire people of color.

  • Does your organization follow inclusion practices?

We do, but not on a policy level yet.

  • What motivated you to join the Worldplaces?

Accepting the “you can’t do it alone” mindset. Connecting with organisations and experts reflects your exposure and eagerness to learn different practices. This is how I found myself at this organisation and I want to grasp as much as I can

Until the end of 2024, all Network member-companies have exclusive access to training and tools based on the findings and best practices of the “Worldplaces – Workplaces Working with Migrant Women” pilot phase, combined with good practices and literature on the topic of inclusion.

This project is implemented by the Employability Service of Generation 2.0 for Rights, Equality & Diversity and aims to support companies and organisations in the process of inclusion of women of migrant background in the workplace.
