F ZEEN RETREATS is now a member of the Worldplaces Network!
We welcome F ZEEN RETREATS to the “Worldplaces – Workplaces Working with Migrant Women” Network.
Mrs. Effie Palatou, HR Associate at F ZEEN RETREATS Hotel, answers our questions regarding Diversity and Inclusion in the workplace.
- Why is it important for you and your organisation to promote diversity and inclusion in the workplace?
By promoting inclusion within F ZEEN RETREATS, we have been able to integrate employees from different backgrounds, giving them the opportunity to smoothly transition into the market. By promoting inclusion in the workplace, employees feel valued and respected by both the company and their colleagues. Through F ZEEN RETREATS’ inclusion initiatives, innovation is increased, on the one hand, and their effectiveness is demonstrated, on the other, as employees get the opportunity of developing their soft skills.
- Do you, in your organisation, follow an inclusion practice?
One of F ZEEN RETREATS‘ activities is our participation in Career Days, aimed at connecting with candidates from different backgrounds, thus enabling equal opportunities. A typical example is our participation in both Non-Profit Organisations’ Career Days and Career Days for the Unemployed. Under these circumstances, the company maintains a 19% share of the total number of its seasonal staff with origins from countries both in and out of the European Union. The company’s HR team aims at promoting and maintaining equal opportunities, is in touch with various NFPOs throughout the year and, in the meantime, it supports the preparation process of documents necessary for employees to smoothly transition to the job. The goal of F ZEEN RETREATS is currently and will always be to foster a diverse environment, showcasing the strengths and capabilities of its diverse people.
- What motivated you to join the Worldplaces Network?
The good cooperation that F ZEEN RETREATS has had so far with employees of migrant background has given us the right motivation to continue the process of integrating them into the company’s teams. Our participation in the “Worldplaces” Network, is a reinforcement of our actions so far, giving us the opportunity to add even more actions aimed at empowering women refugees.
This project is implemented by the Employability Service of Generation 2.0 for Rights, Equality & Diversity and aims to support companies and organisations in the process of inclusion of women of migrant background in the workplace.
