As part of the support and informative activities for people with immigrant or refugee background seeking employment, we organised another Employers’ Speech, with professionals specializing in a specific economic sector.
On Wednesday, May 26, 2021, we had the pleasure to host Elshadai Beyene, a graduate of the Department of Nursing at the University of West Attica and a staff member of Evangelismos Athens General Hospital.
During the discussion, Elshadai Beyene spoke to us about the importance of soft skills in a hospital setting. In particular, she referred to critical thinking, the meticulous evaluation of information and emotional intelligence, emphasizing on the need to deal with and to regulate emotions. Additionally, she mentioned organizational skills and efficient time management. Regarding the hard skills that concern her profession, she referred to the studies required for anyone who wants to follow the specific career path.

Finally, she answered questions about this specific industry, its future prospects and how to gain access to it. She noted that, “Health sciences require constant learning, it is impossible to know everything! So read, ask and everything will run their course.“
