There is a new addition to the Worldplaces Network, Pfizer Hellas S.A. !

We are welcoming Pfizer Hellas S.A. to the Network “Worldplaces-Workplaces Working with Migrant Women“.

Ms. Lia Bertsiadou, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Lead at Pfizer Hellas S.A., is answering our questions about Diversity and Inclusion in the workplace.

Why is it important for you and your company to promote inclusion in the workplace?

Treating all people equally is a core value and priority at Pfizer. Recognizing and providing equal opportunities for the employees’ development, and for the society as a whole, regardless of sexual orientation, gender, race, and creating an even safer workplace where everyone can feel comfortable and be their true selves arekey priorities for us.

Does your company follow inclusion practices?

In Greece, by signing the Diversity Charter and having created a dynamic team for the DEI strategy, we have implemented early actions for the inclusion of vulnerable groups. The Diversity, Equity & Inclusion team consists of five pillars: Gender, Open LGBTQ, Cross Generation, Disability and Culture. Through our active action we constantly strive to help the whole spectrum of socially vulnerable groups and to eliminate any kind of discrimination in the workplace.

Typical examples are our company’s global participation in the refugee integration program in the labour market, with recruitments reaching 150, the inclusion of colleagues from the LGBTQ community, the effort to bridge the generation gap that can be caused between colleagues, and, finally, equal opportunities for recognition, development and rehabilitation, regardless of gender.

In collaboration with the NGO “Me Alla Matia”, we have improved our company’s facilities in Athens and Thessaloniki in order to make them accessible to all.

In our company, we create women’s empowerment programs and we cooperate with both institutional and private organisations oriented in this field.

Every Human deserves to be seen, heard and cared for!

What motivated you to join the Worldplaces Network?

The communication with the Diversity Network Officer and the work that is being implemented through the Worldplaces Network encouraged us to become members and participate in this training cycle.  The use of the knowledge and good practices that will result from the implementation of this project will contribute significantly to our efforts for equal inclusion policies in terms of gender and cultural diversity.

All Network member-companies are going to have, until the end of 2024, exclusive access to trainings and tools based on the findings and best practices of the “Worldplaces – Workplaces Working with Migrant Women” pilot phase completed in May 2023, combined with international good practices and literature on the topic of inclusion.

This project is implemented by the Employability service of Generation 2.0 for Rights, Equality & Diversity and aims to support companies and organisations in the process of migrant women’s equal inclusion in the workplace.
